Africa Travel Essentials - What to Wear on African Safari

Generally the climatic conditions in Africa are relatively favorable throughout the year. The weather conditions also depend on the current season.

Thus on summer you would expect hot sunny days and chill evenings especially on the highland regions, In winter, cool to warm days and cold evenings.

Brightly colored clothes are not recommended especially when on game drives or walking since they tend to scared the animals away. Dress to blend with the immediate surroundings.

Wear loose comfortable clothing in natural colors such as khaki, olive, brown or beige. Tee shirts and short pants combined with sunblock are acceptable during the day. Not forgetting of course a hat. In the evenings you will need to wear long sleeved shirts and long trousers for protection against mosquitoes. Take along a jersey and a windbreaker.
